Android to Windows.
One local workspace.

Files from your phone, within reach of your computer. Here is how the preview works.

A browser companion, not an Android app

Native Android development is paused. ByteDrop currently connects through a supported phone browser after QR pairing and Windows approval. There is no Play Store release or Android share-sheet integration to install.

Network and trusted HTTPS

Both devices need network reachability. A guest Wi-Fi network, VPN or router isolation may block it. The advanced preview uses a local certificate authority that must be explicitly trusted on the phone. Android manufacturer/browser trust behavior varies; physical-device acceptance remains open.

Files, media and folder pickers

Use the browser picker to choose documents, photos or videos available through Android’s storage providers. Access to protected app folders depends on Android’s storage rules. Folder selection support varies; compatibility file lists can omit empty directories. ByteDrop cannot bypass platform storage permissions.

Interrupted uploads

Resumable uploads retain confirmed chunks. After network loss, reconnect and reapprove the browser if requested, then resume using the original source. Android may suspend background browsers, so keep the page open during early testing.

Download expectations

Phone downloads use the browser’s ordinary download behavior. Native Windows disk recovery is a separate Windows feature; it is not a promise that every Android download survives a restart.
